France in World Cup 2002: A History Repeated?

Can’t wait for tonight’s match between France and Italy. Surely France does not want to repeat their history at the 2002 World Cup; finishing at the bottom of Group A, just as Italy does not want to be “France in 2002”; a world champion who come home too soon. But true, this is not the World Cup, and the shame of being defeated by Romania might be less painful than defeated by debutant Senegal. Still, the shame will be as much if Italy fails; a world champion who comes home too soon.
